Environmental Norms

Sound Level

Industrial businesses can be one of the major reasons for noise pollution in the environment which is why it is important to take effective measures to reduce noise levels in the industrial premises. Keeping the external and internal sound levels to an acceptable level throughout the day is important to promote a sustainable environment and promote health and safety of not only the employees but also for the local community. We maintain the noise levels below 60 dB from 6.00pm to 6.00 am below 70 dB from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm at boundaries of the industrial estate which is favourable enough to prevent environmental pollution and keep our surroundings safe.

Air Quality Level

The importance of protecting the air quality level especially in industrial settings cannot be overemphasised. Unless properly managed and maintained, poor air quality can impose irreversible effects on the environment and the people living within a certain territory. At our industrial park, we maintain the air quality according to the standards given by the pollution control unit of CEA for general atmospheric emissions.

Industrial Waste Water Discharge

As per our vision about sustainable business, we focus on waste water management at our premises because most of the waste water ends back in the environment. As a responsible organisation, we do not want to see the environment being threatened by any of our industrial operations, therefore, we always ensure the water being discharged back to the environment complies with the tolerance limits given by CEA for Waste Water discharge in to Common Waste Water Treatment Plant and finally to the Kelani River.

Solid Waste

Proper solid waste collection, management, and disposing is important to promote a healthy, safe environment within the industrial premises. Not only it promotes environmental sustainability but also it prevents disposing or storing hazardous waste for long enough that it might cause irreversible damage such as exploitation. We have taken measures to prevent such scenarios by allowing only scheduled waste to be disposed at managed time depending on the type of waste being collected.
