LINDEL has also commenced its own renewable energy initiative by taking advantage of the roof area available at the site. The Company has invested in seven roof mounted solar power plants, the first of which was a 20kW net metering solar plant implemented at the LINDEL head office in 2014. This was followed by another two net metering plants of 20kW and 22kW. Given the successful implementation of these projects, LINDEL proceeded to commission two solar net plus plants with capacities of 432kW and 470kW in 2018 and 2020 respectively. In November 2021, LINDEL began the development of a 457kW net plus system, which is expected to be commissioned by February 2022. Thus, the Company will have an installed capacity of approximately 1.5MW to supplement its power requirement in 2022.
